These baby Jesus ornaments are THE SWEETEST and easiest craft you’ll make this holiday season! I used this as part of a Happy Birthday, Jesus party we threw, and you can learn all about that by reading the post here.
The ornament is pretty easy, so let me first tell you everything you’ll need:
- Wooden boys
- Mini Grapevine wreaths
- Raffia ribbon
- Wooden star stickers
- Soft fabric pieces- I used an ivory flannel.
- Hot glue
- Ribbon
- Permanent marker
First, you’ll take your “baby” and wrap him in swaddling clothes: soft fabric, cut in rectangles about 4 inches long and about 2 inches wide. The measurements don’t have to be perfect, because you’re simply wrapping him up! Then wrap the raffia ribbon around him to secure the fabric. I wrapped mine around a few times and then simply tied it in a knot.
Next, take your wooden star stickers and stick one on the back on the baby’s head as if he were laying down. Although it is sticky, I also added a drop of hot glue behind there to make sure it was secure.
Draw your face next…you can do sleeping eyes (in the shape of “u”s) or actually draw a face.
Next, use your hot glue gun again and put a big dollop on the wreath where you want your baby Jesus to lay. Simply add the baby on there, and it should stay pretty well.
Lastly, add a piece of ribbon about 6 inches long so you can hang your ornament. Voila!
It is so easy, and so sweet, and definitely one of those keepsake ornaments that will make you smile each year when you add it on your tree!
I hope you enjoy making these precious ornaments with the little ones in your life this Christmas! #makesomemagic
